Naples, Florida 1996 the first Tommy Bahama Restaurant opened and since then 19 more locations have expanded in various states.. The idea for the restaurant arose from the concept "Where would Tommy eat?" The Tommy we are referring to is a fictional character made up by the original owners who vacationed on Florida's Gulf Coast, Tommy was a man whose life was one long weekend. The first retail store opened in Naples in November 1995, and three months later with the additional space available at this location, a restaurant ensued. Tommy would love this menu and the Tropical cuisine along with signature cocktails.

Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Marlin Bar, NYC

Location, Location, Location, that's what Tommy Bahama Restaurant in NYC is all about, located on 45th Street and Fifth Avenue, you are within walking distance to high end shopping, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and the Empire State Building

WHAT WE LIKE:

The menu and variety of fresh fish offerings as well as vegetarian and gluten free options

Island Time Happy Hour Every Day 3-6pm

Layers of flavors in each dish, giving consideration to how each element contributes to the overall flavor profile

Warm, welcoming environment

Zero-Proof Beverage Options on the menu

WHAT WE DON'T LIKE

Lack of vegan options

Service was slow based upon the occupancy of the restaurant

Bartender put the check on the bar while we were still eating our lunch

Smaller restaurant as compared to some of the other locations

Weekend opening hours 3:00 pm

The vision for Tommy Bahama was built by two (2) beach loving couples in 1991 on Florida's Gulf Coast and today every aspect of the business revolves around this fictional character Tommy Bahama, and the obvious questions: "What would Tommy wear" and "What would Tommy eat". I am certain Tommy would enjoy a day at the centrally located NYC location enjoying a glass of Conundrum and Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos.
