Milano, the original location, opened in 1936 and over the years Sant Ambroeus' popularity has taken it across the Atlantic Ocean to its first stateside location on Madison Avenue, which in 2022 celebrated its 40th anniversary. Since then Sant Ambroeus has opened additional outposts where demographics appreciate the quality of their product.

Melanzane alla Parmigiana and Carciofi e Parmigiano
The unusually warm weather conditions on New Year's Day in the Hamptons allowed us to eat al fresco

The bread service consists of three (3) types of bread: an olive bread, a crusty bread and a seeded bread, all of which are made in house, along with a beautiful robust Tuscan olive oil
WHAT WE LIKE:
The Christmas Panettone
The intimate bar, one of the best martinis around
Interior design is lively and romantic
Service is warm and welcoming
The menu is a tribute to its Milanese cuisine
WHAT WE DON'T LIKE
The $6 charge for Parmesan
The inconsistent pour of their drinks
A little too pricey to make it a weekly spot
There is not a beverage menu for coffees and teas
Sant Ambroeus is simplistic while paying attention to detail, the food transports you back to it's Italian roots while enjoying the atmosphere of Madison Avenue, it's intergenerational while attracting a new generation who prefers to enjoy a simple meal with family and friends.
