It all started at the turn of the 20th century, when Ludovico Barbati came to the United States and proceeded to learn how to make bread in a garage on West 8th Street.

L&B has been around for over 100 years, is now in it's fourth generation of owners, and has stood the test of time, the food over the years has maintained the high quality that has been consistent for the last century which is a testament to the Barbati Family.
